About
Funeral Tracks is a simple site for a heavy topic: Which songs would you choose for your funeral?
It's kind of a morbid premise, but I hope you might also see that it can be life affirming. By thinking forward to your funeral , maybe you'll spend some time thinking about how you're building your life / legacy right now. Are you doing the things you thought you would, or you hoped you could?
I hope it also gives you some time out from the light-speed, infinite playlist of the 21st century, and encourages you to slow down a bit. The Spotifycation of music has taken us away from spending focused time on music. We don't read album covers or casette-tape credits, usually just flit from one song to the next. So Funeral Tracks is kind of like island tracks but you can only choose three songs. I took some time to choose mine, but I will probably edit them as I think about the music and moments that have made up my life.
When you create your Funeral †racks playlist, you choose:
Entrance — the song that plays as people gather.
Reflection — a moment of remembrance.
Exit — the song that sends you off.
We don't host music. We don't stream anything. We just help you collect your tracks and share them with the people who matter.
